 "HAVE YOUR COOKOUT "IN"" 2009-10-06
By John Craft (Rye Brook New York)
You can cook just about anything with this Grill. With the adjustable temperature dial for grill and griddle, it gets hot enough to do a 3/4" steak and shrimp are a snap. My only reservatiion is that Bella Cucina could have included a more comprehensive cooking guide in the user's manual.

"Sort of works, but not really" 2009-10-01
By C. Asp (Fargo, ND USA)
I just purchased this item, and I've been putting it through it's paces the last two days. First tried it with a 1" steak. On our George Forman grill, a steak like this would take about 4 minutes total to cook. This machine was set on high for over 10 minutes, it said it was heated up, put the steak on, and 10 minutes later it still wasn't done very well.

Next day, tried to make a egg-based quesadilla, tried cooking the ingredients on each side first, but noticed the bottom side was taking forever to cook them. My IR thermometer said the temp was 167 deg. on the bottom and 215 on the top. Not the 350 I was led to believe. Tried turning the thermostat all the way up, and it finally cooked the eggs. When I put the cooked mixture inside the bottom and top tortillas and closed it up, it produced a hot quesadilla.

I think the problem is that the cooking plates (grills and griddle) are very light and don't maintain heat very well. The knobs seems almost childishly poor, literally like you might find on a toy oven. It's apparent this is not a quality built machine, and I doubt it will provide any form of long-term use for any household. I'll be returning mine today to switch it for a Cuisinart model that works almost the same. Hopefully that is of higher quality.

 "JUNK" 2009-08-20
By C. J. Bollendorf (Elizabethtown, PA)
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! I got it for Christmas in '08 & used it about 8 - 10 times. The first time I used it, the numbers & words for the settings on the front wiped right off! After about 8 uses the one side stopped working, then the next time the other side stopped. And to top it off, the company will only refund $18 of the $80 spent on depreciation! I was robbed!

"Do not buy this grill" 2009-03-14
By F. Drake
I bought this grill a year ago, used it a few times a month, and it has stopped working already. I called the company and they told me the warranty was up so they will not replace or repair it. If this is the kind of quality Bella Cucina makes, I plan to stay away from their products.

"Do NOT purchase under ANY circumstances. Dangerous!" 2009-02-12
By Jo (Asheville, NC)
First of all the "GRILL" side (far right button) stopped working, BUT the "GRIDDLE" side (far left button) did work electrically and worked well so I kept it. (After all it had two separate outside left and right buttons that were separate heat sources working independently of each other -- a very good plus.) After using for a couple of months, I was frying bacon which it cooked well; however, after removing the final cooked bacon, the back left joint connecting the bottom of the grill to the cover SHATTERED and the entire top fell off completely. (If that had happened while I was cooking the bacon with the fat pouring off, I could have been burned really badly. Bacon grease did get on my counter, but, fortunately, I was not burned. Additionally, ceramic tile is on my counter which did not melt.) My husband looked at the grill and said that the grill was not made out of metal but made out of GRAPHITE which LOOKS like METAL, but is NOT metal at all. (Some tennis rackets are made out of graphite.) My brother-in-law said that graphite CANNOT ever be repaired if it breaks. I CANNOT believe that a real company would build something like a panini/grill/griddle that gets so hot out of something that is NOT metal. This grill was purchased in the box with styrofoam packing and was not dropped. It was stored in the closed cooking position on my ceramic counter until it shattered. Bella Cucina Grill & Griddle Please do NOT purchase under ANY circumstances. Dangerous!
